Established in 1937, the Kapuskasing Golf Club appears to have been literally carved out of the thick forest of Northern Ontario. Target style golf at its best, the mature trees and sand traps which appear on almost every hole will challenge the shot placement skills of any golfer to the limit.
The wooded terrain is typical of the area, with some gentle ups and downs. The fairways are somewhat narrow and, for the most part, the Poanna grass greens are of moderate size. Water hazards on the 1st,4th, 6th and 9th holes add to the challenge, with the par 5, 514 yards 6th hole being ranked the most difficult hole to play. This signature hole has a water pond to beware of on the left hand side, a big willow tree situated in the fairway, but it is your third shot that makes or break you.  Your lay up shot has a narrow landing area but a bunker on the right will gobble any long hitters attempt at hitting the green in 2.  Another will take in balls hit over the green, but it is the water hazard that will take everything else hit left or short.  A great test for golfers of all levels.
Your visit to the Kapuskasing Golf Club is enhanced by the well stocked CPGA pro-shop, great bar and lounge area. Our courteous, bilingual staff will be sure to make your visit at the club an enjoyable one.
